Supermodel Gisele Bundchen is to design a range of clothes for fashion house Dolce & Gabbana.
The Brazilian model, currently the face of the label's latest fragrance 'The One', will launch her ready-to-wear collection in spring.
Bundchen by Dolce & Gabbana is expected to appear in selected stores across the globe by March, reports Vogue.
Described as "chic and feminine" the range will be the first design venture for Gisele, who has reportedly considered previous collaborations but waited to work with her two friends.
The model has been a regular fixture at Dolce & Gabbana over recent years, appearing on the catwalk and in print campaigns for the design duo.
Her appearance in the campaign for 'The One' has apparently helped to boost worldwide sales of the fragrance by some £75 million.
Known as the highest-paid model in the world, Gisele revealed recently that she has a strong business acumen, insisting on being paid in euros instead of American dollars due to a recent fall in the US currency's worth.
Fashion house Gucci will stage its fundraising fashion week party at the United Nations' (UN) headquarters in New York.
This will be the first time the grounds of the building on the edge of the East River have played host to a fashion event.
Due to take place on February 6th, the fundraising gala will celebrate the launch of Gucci's new flagship store on Fifth Avenue and, with help from Madonna, will generate support for Malawi.
Already set to be one of the key events of New York Fashion Week, the party will be staged on the North Lawn of the UN building and will include live performances from Alicia Keyes, Timbaland and Rihanna.
Madonna's involvement in the Gucci party was announced last month. The star, who adopted a son from Malawi earlier this year, will host the event alongside Gucci's creative director Frida Giannini and a series of other celebrity UNICEF sponsors.
Giannini recently announced that she has designed a limited edition range of eight exclusive accessories which will be launched on August 8th next year to coincide with the opening of the Beijing Olympics.

It has the power to transform an image and make a social statement.
What is fashion anyway?
The prevailing style or custom, as in dress or behavior: out of fashion.
Something, such as a garment, that is in the current mode: a swimsuit that is the latest fashion.
The style characteristic of the social elite: a man of fashion.
To some, fashion is an art form. To others, it is almost a religion.
For most people it is a method of utilizing clothing, accessories and hair to show or hide something about yourself. You can use fashion to express yourself, to serve as an extension of your personality: goth, skater, soccer mom, professional, and beyond, or you can use fashion to disguise your true self: a conservative in vamp clothing, a vamp in conservative clothing.
Fashion statements can be made with clothes, accessories, shoes, hair, makeup, even your cellphone.
Who decides what's in?
Designers can greatly influence what direction fashion will go in.

So everyone from big-name designers to celebrities may be behind influencing the direction fashion will go in, but even with all these factors, it is ultimately up to you, the consumer, who will decide what is "in" when you choose whether or not to buy into a trend.

Depending on what you want to do -- from designing to retailing -- there are many paths you can take to get to your destination.
Education is a vital ingredient: many universities offer excellent fashion merchandising courses.
Work experience is another necessary step to working as a professional in the fashion industry. Experience at the retail level (as a sales person in a store) is a great way to get a feel for how consumers buy, mix or reject clothing.
Many students are initially attracted to fashion because it seems like a glamorous business and to some degree it is, but the majority of clothing and accessories that are designed, manufactured and sold have absolutely nothing to do with the glitzy shows associated with famous designers.
The majority of people working in fashion have behind-the-scenes jobs at less-than-glamorous wages. Regardless, most who work in the industry are charged by its vibrancy and creativity and get rewards other than fame and fortune (a fun job, creative outlet, etc.).

Dear Experts, What's the rule for wearing jean jackets and jeans? Do they have to match and do they have to be the same color? I am at a loss about this.

Let's see. This is somewhat of a complicated question because sometimes mixing jean colors can look really tacky. If you're wearing really dark bottoms and have a light jean jacket that is semi-ok. If you have all light on then it's ok..it gives you that vintage look...even if they are dark sometimes they can be compatible. the best thing is to ask a friend for their color theory. What's really hip right now is the full matching jean outfit.Hope that helped,Chako s.
